Office Secret Santa
A workplace exchange has constraints a family one does not: people who joined last week, a budget that has to be fair across salaries, and a manager who should not know who drew whom. Here is a setup that survives all three.

You get one private link per person to send on WhatsApp, Messenger or anywhere else. No email addresses needed.
Email everyone — Add an email after a name (Nora, nora@mail.com) and we send that person their link automatically.
Share links on Slack or Teams
You do not need to collect work addresses. Switch to link mode, and after the draw you can copy every private link as one message with the name in front of each line.

Post it in the channel, or send each line as a direct message if your team is the discreet type. Each link only reveals that one person's match.
Set a budget people can say yes to
A range beats a number: it gives people room without inviting a competition. Put it on the draw itself so it appears on everyone's link, and add a line about what counts – whether homemade, secondhand or a donation is in the spirit of it. Stating that up front is the difference between a fun exchange and three people quietly opting out.
Make it genuinely optional
Only add the people who said yes. An exchange with twelve willing participants works better than one with twenty where eight feel obliged, and nobody has to explain a budget that does not suit them this year. If a late volunteer appears, add them to the draw afterwards without redrawing the whole group.
Keeping it clean at work
Use exclusions to keep a manager from drawing their own direct report if that feels awkward at your company, or to keep two people from the same small team apart. Nothing is stored beyond first names and optional wishlists, and it all disappears 60 days after the exchange date – no leftover spreadsheet of who bought what for whom.

- Can I run it without collecting work emails?
- Yes. Link mode stores no addresses at all, only the first names you type.
- Can the organizer participate?
- Yes. No page shows the full pairing list, not even to whoever set it up.
- What is a fair office budget?
- Whatever the least-paid person in the room can spend comfortably. A range rather than a fixed amount is the usual solution.
- Someone left the company before the exchange.
- Delete the group and redraw, or add a replacement so the circle stays complete.
- Do we need a tool at all?
- For an in-person team of five, no. For anyone remote, part-time or in another office, the links are the only reliable way.
