Secret Santa in Slack — no bot, no admin approval
Type the names, draw, and copy a message formatted for Slack with one private link per person. Post it in a channel or DM the links one by one. Nobody sees the draw — not even you.
1. Your group
2. Participants
Optional: add an email after a name and we send that person their link right after the draw. Example: Nora, nora@mail.com — or paste two columns from a spreadsheet.
We only use email addresses to send the links.
0 participants (0 with email) · At least 3 names. You can add yourself too.
3. Who should not draw each other (optional)
For couples, siblings, or people who always end up with each other.
4. How to share the links
I will share the links myself
You get one private link per person to send on WhatsApp, Messenger or anywhere else. No email addresses needed.
Tip: add an email after each name in step 2 and we'll send the links for you.
How it works in Slack
After the draw, the organizer page has a “Copy for Slack” button. It copies all links as one message, one line per person, with each name in bold so it reads cleanly in the channel:
🎁 Secret Santa 2026: Maya → fluky.com/ss/…
🎁 Secret Santa 2026: Tom → fluky.com/ss/…
The name comes first on each line, so people know which link is theirs. A link only shows that one person's result, never anyone else's. If your team prefers privacy, use the “Send” button next to each name and DM the links instead.
Why not a Slack bot
Secret Santa bots need a workspace admin to approve the app, want permission to read channels, and often charge per member. For something that happens once a year, that's a lot of friction. Fluky is a web page: nothing to install, no permissions, no cost, and it works the same for the contractor who isn't in your Slack.
What the organizer sees
Your private organizer page shows who has opened their link, with a “Remind” button next to anyone who hasn't — it prepares a short DM with only that person's link. You can add someone who joined late without redrawing, and delete the whole group afterwards. You never see who drew whom, so you can join the draw yourself.
Budget, date and exclusions
Set a budget and the exchange date, and mark pairs who shouldn't draw each other. Each person can add a wishlist on their own link, which helps a lot in teams where people barely know each other.
FAQ
- Will the message look right in Slack?
- Yes. Each line has the person's name in bold followed by their link, so it reads cleanly in a channel or a DM.
- Can I see who drew whom?
- No. Not you, not us. Only each participant sees their own result.
- Someone left the company. What do I do?
- Remove them from the organizer page, even after the draw. One person gets a new name and the page tells you who, so you can send just them their link again.
- Can I mix Slack and email?
- Yes. Add an email after any name and that person gets their link by email; the others get theirs in Slack.
- What do you store?
- Only the names you type and any wishlists people fill in. Everything deletes 60 days after the event date, or earlier if you delete the group.
